What Our Guests Are Saying
Delicious. Recommend Platter: Herb Sumac Layered Kofta Kebab...this is meat and pita layered back to back. Harissa Yogurt, Dill rice, Hummus, Sumac Onion. Others had: Chicken Tawook (~Slightly spicy), Lamb Gyros (Yum!), Sumac Salmon (oh yeah), and Chicken Shawarma (Sweet and Good!) Went with 5 people, and they pushed tables together, very accommodating. Will be back. *Cash Discounts

I got a lamb gyros with fries and a green apple walnut salad. The gyros was a little burnt/crispy which is how i love it. I didnt ask for it that way though. The gyro came with a little side of mixed greens and some cucumber and radish. No tzatziki (which i asked for an extra side of). I was more than a little miffed about that at first, but then i noticed i got a bunch of xtra side garnishes (also didnt ask for but im glad i got em!). The pickles with pickled lemons, pickled red onions, pickled red peppers, and some creamy orangish red sauce were so delicious on the gyro im not sure i want tzatziki on a gyro anymore! Havent tried the apple walnut salad but im sure its gonna be delicious. Cant wait to go back and try other stuff.

Loved everything about the food. We tried 3 platters with different combinations and each was delicious. I hope they are here a long time!

I ordered the Chicken Tawook Entrée for online pickup with Creamy Zhoug, Dill Rice, Mast O Khiar, pita bread, and Sumac Onion. Everything was flavorful and delicious! I especially enjoyed the different flavors and how well everything went together. I would definitely recommend trying it. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was the portion of chicken. When I got home, I noticed there were only about 6–7 small pieces of chicken, while there was a lot of rice. I don’t mind having plenty of rice, but I would have definitely preferred a little more protein with my meal, especially since it’s a chicken entrée. The food was really tasty and I would order again—I’d just love to see a little more chicken included!

Highly recommended to all.

TG Inner Spice decided Island Lake was its home !!! If you’re craving great flavored home made food look no further, if your weekly rotation of 8 different Mexican joints all in Island Lake/Wauconda are just becoming lame & boring I would give Inner Spice a shot !!! Service = A+++ Food = A+++ Environment = A+++

The food was amazing! It was fresh and flavorful. My husband and I both got a platter option but they also have sandwiches. It came with a perfect potion of chicken, rice and sides. The owner is a wonderful person and very involved in supporting our community. We will definitely be going back soon to eat!
